Terms of Service

OpusCut is an AI-powered online video editing tool. Core features include:

• AI highlight detection: analyzes YouTube, Google Drive, or uploaded videos to automatically find the best moments.
• Caption generation: uses Whisper speech recognition to transcribe video into Traditional Chinese (or other languages) subtitles, which can be burned into the video.
• Short-form video output: generates vertical 9:16 clips for IG Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and similar platforms.

The Service is browser-based — no software installation required. Infrastructure uses cloud GPU computing and may be affected by third-party service availability (Modal, Supabase, Cloudflare R2, Apify).

Using the Service requires creating an account via Google OAuth. You must:

• Be at least 13 years old (if under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, parental consent is required).
• Provide a valid, accurate Google account.
• Keep your account secure and not allow others to use it.
• Take responsibility for all actions taken under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms without prior notice.

The Service uses a credit-based system:

• New accounts automatically receive 50 free credits upon sign-up.
• Each AI processing job consumes credits based on video length and feature type.
• Free credits have no monetary value and are non-transferable and non-refundable.
• Purchased credits are also non-refundable (pricing will be clearly displayed before purchase).
• Credits expire upon account termination; unused credits will not be compensated.

Pricing may change as service costs evolve. Material changes will be communicated 30 days in advance.

The copyright of video content you upload or link ("Your Content") belongs to the original rights holder. When processing videos with the Service, you must ensure:

• You own the copyright to the video, or have explicit authorization from the rights holder.
• Your content does not infringe any third party's copyright, trademark, likeness rights, or other intellectual property.
• You will not use the Service to illegally download or distribute copyright-protected content.

You grant OpusCut a non-exclusive, royalty-free limited license solely for the technical processing necessary to provide the Service (e.g., transcoding, AI analysis, caption generation, temporary storage).

Copyright of generated clips (highlight videos, captions) belongs to you, provided you have lawful copyright or authorization for the original video.

When using the Service, you may not:

• Upload or process content that is illegal, hateful, pornographic, violent, or that infringes others' privacy.
• Use the Service to mass-copy or distribute copyright-protected videos (including YouTube Premium content, commercial films, or TV series).
• Attempt to reverse engineer, crack, or interfere with the Service's AI models or backend infrastructure.
• Use automated scripts, crawlers, or API abuse to call the Service beyond reasonable personal use.
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent credit limits or other usage restrictions.
• Use the Service to create misinformation, deepfakes, or intentionally misleading content.
• Use the Service for any purpose that is illegal or violates applicable law.

The Service is provided "as-is" and we do not guarantee:

• Continuous or uninterrupted availability (cloud GPU services may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance or third-party outages).
• That AI highlight detection results will meet your expectations (AI analysis results vary with source video quality).
• 100% accuracy in caption transcription (Whisper model accuracy continues to improve for various accents and mixed languages).
• That generated clips fully comply with any specific platform's upload specifications.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpusCut is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use (or inability to use) the Service.

The Service supports processing YouTube video links. Please note:

• You must have lawful copyright or authorization for the relevant YouTube video.
• The Service does not permanently store original audio or video obtained from YouTube.
• YouTube Premium content, private videos, and other protected content are not supported.
• YouTube platform policy changes may affect this feature's availability — this is a third-party factor outside our control.

You may request account deletion at any time in account settings. Upon deletion:

• Your personal data (email, name) will be deleted from our systems within 30 business days.
• Video clips stored in R2 will be deleted after the original 7-day retention period (not accelerated, due to technical constraints).
• Unused credits will expire and will not be refunded.

We reserve the right to immediately terminate accounts for policy violations. Serious violations may be reported to relevant authorities.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Taiwan Taipei District Court as the court of first instance.

Before initiating legal proceedings, both parties should attempt to resolve disputes through friendly negotiation within 30 days.

We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Material amendments (e.g., pricing model or data usage changes) will be notified to signed-in account holders by email at least 30 days in advance, and the updated date will be reflected on this page.

Continued use of the Service after amendments constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not accept, please stop using the Service and request account deletion.
